School's closed after the earthquake

Most schools in the Canterbury region are not likely to open until Monday, says Education Minister Anne Tolley.They are trying to make sure that it is safe to reopen the schools.The board of trustees are thinking about reopening the schools tomorrow but they don't know if it is safe to yet.Today the Ministry of Education has contacted 100 of the 165 state and state-integrated schools in the affected area.They really want to get schools and early childhood education services open as soon as possible so that the children can get back to what they used to do and they can do there learning.
